Creation

October 26, 2007 5 comments

Today, I write about creation. To do so, I must create, communicate, expand my thought into this world, what I believe to be this reality.

Created words, creating images of creation through imagination.

How come that you, me – everyone – do this all the time, without even noticing?

Imagination is the act of painting over the blank canvas that we call reality, making images appear where there where none. Some people call it manifesting, but I just call it existing. Our existence – our self – is the tool between us and the chosen medium, through which we express the unique combination of patterns formed by the sum of symbols that we call “me”.

What to do with this infinite potential? Today, I have chosen to put it into words, into images. Why? I’m not quite sure… can you enlighten me?

Flower

October 23, 2007 5 comments

Such a little flower – I almost didn’t see it.

The perfection of nature is everywhere. Hidden in plain sight, patiently waiting for us to notice. Look around, and see for yourself. If your eyes are weary from flashing lights, put your head on the ground and listen to the heartbeat of life. If your ears are resounding with noise, face the sky and let the wind play with your senses.

Such a little flower – but so much beauty to be found.

A World of Twilight

October 20, 2007 2 comments

Why do we live between light and darkness? We exist only in twilight, where shadows follow our every step, withdrawing and hiding when the sun is high, but returning to haunt us in the dark hours of night. A cruel dance, repeating itself each and every day, from the beginning of humankind.

But, how can we escape these circumstances?

Don’t we choose our own way, going for one side or the other, just like Luke Skywalker? I asked myself that question for a long time, but I was clinging to a wrong concept – I considered light and darkness as separate entities. Both of them are actually connected, the light creating the darkness, which in turn absorbs it, generating an eternal flow of creative energy. These are not opposing forces, because the darkness doesn’t have a body of it’s own through which it could oppose the light. It is just a hollow reflection, an echo. It is where the light extinguishes itself to renew its potential of creation.

Everything we see in this reality has its shadow. To see, we need light. It is a fact of life. Perhaps we should discard the idea that we can live in a perfect world of pure light, that we can ignore the shadows projecting around us. They are an essential part of the light; without them, there would be no contrast, no manifestation. When I reach towards light, I respect the darkness created through that act.

The shadow doesn’t have an existence or justification of its own, but it is a necessary part of balance. The sewage systems complement the abundance of the rain, preventing us from being flooded. I won’t struggle against this fact – instead I’ll just live on this imperfect world as it is. All events are following their natural course, and there is nothing to fear. This place is our paradise, after all.

I’ve stopped running from my own shadow. I got tired of having it stepping on my heels every time I tried to escape. No matter how fast I ran, I couldn’t separate myself a single inch from it. But now, I’m ready to accept it fully. I look at the light, and feel the darkness. In twilight, I manifest perfectly. My existence is human and imperfect, just as it should be.

But even so, I won’t lose my way.

The light will guide me

Always.

Living Cloud

October 17, 2007 Leave a comment

All life is born in the core. From an infinitely simple seed, an infinitely complex manifestation arises, projecting in all possible directions, leaving nothing untouched.

Life surrounds us and overflows – we just can’t avoid it. So why do we choose to run away at times, if all that is asked from us is to embrace her with all our strength?

Elementals

October 17, 2007 3 comments

This is my interpretation of the elementals associated to the four classic elements. An elemental is a concentrated manifestation of the energy of a certain element, and is therefore very hard to understand or explain using only human concepts and language. I don’t pretend this to be a thorough description of them; instead I’ll try to come close to the meaning each of these forces has for me in particular.

Air

Air is subtle, spontaneous and light. It has great strength shown in a gentle form. It is unpredictable: One day it blesses us with a caressing breeze, and on the next a storm brews inside it.

Air

Fire

Fire is energy of change, of chemistry or, to be more accurate, of alchemy. It acts in a concentrated form on a single point, waiting for the moment to be suddenly released, triggering the transformation of matter.

Fire

Water

Water is a soft but persistent force. It is the flow of life, of time. A continual transformation, tender but powerful, which stands in contrast to the sudden and violent fire.

Water

Earth

Earth is the force that nurtures, the base of everything, the mirror of the universe. It turns inwards, where strong roots are supported, and seeds of possibility are nourished and protected.

Loser’s Guide to Manifesting

October 13, 2007 6 comments

Are you having trouble manifesting your desires? Do you repeatedly fail at making your dreams come true? Is holding a positive intention for any period of time beyond your ability to focus?

It is said that your intentions should always be positively formulated, considering that the Universe, or God, or whatever you choose to call it, only takes the power of your words into account, and not the context and logical operators surrounding them. Jeff Lilly of DruidJournal has written an excellent piece about it here.

You probably knew this already though… you’re trying to succeed at fulfilling all of the above conditions, but you just can’t make it happen! Behind the pretty words, your evident skepticism of the whole affair shines through.

Free Spirits

October 13, 2007 5 comments

If we examine the world and the state it is in right now, things might not look very encouraging. It is a world dominated by greed, violence and lies. Discord and hatred are everywhere. We are constantly fighting against each other over differences of opinion and belief. Why is this happening? Why can’t we just get along? Where is this ‘spiritual era’ so greatly heralded by mystics and prophets?

It is right here. In the midst of all the internal struggles of humanity, our deepest strength lies secretly hidden.

If we were all meant to have the same thoughts, the same beliefs, the same outlook on life, then why are there so many of us? Why is the world not just populated by one perfect being, which could then call itself ‘God’?

Because diversity is the cornerstone of our existence.

In other times, people who thought different and defended new ideas were persecuted and killed, stifling any attempt to change the widely accepted status quo.

But not anymore.

The source of infinity astonishes me. In the middle of the darkest night, its presence is overwhelming. A soft but unfailing light is reflected in my eyes.

Bronze Singularity

In the very center of the spiral, a metallic consciousness is born. Through alchemy, this essence forms a complex expanding into the 3 dimensions, reflecting itself in infinite detail and magnitude. An unmatched act of creation.
